Describe Your Wine Collection

Marina Kitchen Restaurant & Bar in the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina

This gorgeous commercial hospitality custom wine cellar is tucked away in the newly remodeled Marina Bar and Kitchen in The San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina in downtown San Diego, California. This unique wine cellar is a showpiece backing for an outside bar, also doubling as a private dining room space with a top of the line Berkel cured meat slicer for parties and a pulldown panel for PowerPoint presentations. Parties of up to 12 can comfortably sit in a community style table in the center of this wine room and enjoy appetizers and freshly decanted wines to match the world inspired cuisine.

Modern and Contemporary Wine Cellars in Commercial and Hospitality settings are becoming more popular as design features. Gorgeous custom wine cellars can act functionally and double as an art piece, probably their greatest attribute in modern settings. The custom wine room here was designed for intermittent usage. One unique note for Restaurant Wine Cellars is that they generally do not need to keep at what would normally be the optimum temperature and humidity for residential wine cellars intended for aging wines. With such regular everyday opening, usage, and cycling of wines, trying to maintain a 55 degree constant temperature and 70 degree humidity level is not really desired and would be a bit more difficult to attain.

This modern custom wine cellar with glass features is decked out with VintageView racking, as well as under the counter redwood racking with a custom fumed oak stain. The Rolling Ladder ensures easy access to all wine storage throughout the room. Wine refrigerators have been installed under the opposite counter to keep white wines cooler than the room temperature. The custom design for this project called for bin storage. Wine Case storage options in this cellar work perfectly for a restaurant of this magnitude. This contemporary style is becoming more popular for restaurants and homes in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Palm Desert, Santa Barbara, and San Francisco alike. The Glass window in this contemporary wine room makes viewing from the inside and outside a true showpiece wine cellar.

“The Rolling Ladder ensures easy access to all wine storage throughout the room.”
