For the last 30 years, we’ve turned countless visions into success stories.
I am thrilled with my new 1000 bottle wine cellar. Jake and his team from Vintage Cellars did an incredible job. Not only was Jake very professional, he knew a ton about designing cellars, and his wine knowledge is very impressive. He worked well with my interior designer incorporating our ideas into the project. We initially thought installing the cooling system was going to be difficult; however, we found a solution. I couldn’t be happier with the work that Jake and Vintage Cellars did.
I had purchased cabinets from Vintage Cellars before, so when I planned a wine cellar in my home addition, they were my first call. I had concerns, being in West LA and their office being in San Diego. Jake had to make several visits to discuss electrical, lighting, ceiling height and how it had to be framed for vapor barrier and insulation. I understand Vintage does a lot of work in LA, so either he or Gene are up in LA a couple times a week. My addition was a social area/pool house. My hope was to get 2000+ bottles in the wine cellar. The design concept developed by them was amazing, over 2500 bottles. They used every available space, not wasting an inch. Even putting coved shelves on top of some of the racking for magnum bottles (the ceiling sloped so there was open space above some of the racks). The communication level was great, as all construction projects have delays and reschedules. I recommend them no matter where you live. Jake even brought me two bottles of wine after the completion of the project.
As I was doing some renovations, I emailed Jake regarding some advice related to planning/building my wine cellar, as well as specific technical issues I was facing. I was very pleasantly surprised when he called me shortly after. Jake asked me a few questions and made some very specific and useful recommendations.
I was very impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and how easy it was to discuss the issues with him over the phone (I have never met him).
Now I can move forward confidently with the first steps, and the ability to hookup the appropriate cooling system and to expand the wine cellar into the adjacent room as needed. All of this without having to “redo” anything. I will definitely contact him when ready to move on with the full project.
As you are aware, we have completed the construction at 403 Kings Road. I would like to take the time to thank those who I feel did a solid and timely completion of their contract. I know this may be rare, but i would like to thank you personally for your efforts. Unfortunately, not all of the sub-trades are getting this same review, only those like Vintage Cellars who did their part to make for a great project.
Upon my next efforts, I will certainly contact you to submit plans for hopefully another successful venture. Thank you for your expertise, professionalism and extra efforts on this project.
As a building professional I have completed several projects with Vintage Wine Cellars. Our design team collaborates with Jake on the room details and Jake masters the rack design. This team approach has worked really well for us. The crew are professional, knowledgeable, on time and on budget. The installers are a delightful group of guys too!
Vintage Cellars was professional and timely. They had good input to the project from design and functionality. I plan to contract them again on future projects.
I’ve worked on multiple projects with Jake and Vintage Cellars. They have great design suggestions as well as wonderful customer service.
I work for a high end production homebuilder and have worked with Vintage Cellars for many years. Their designs are awesome and we are constantly asked who we use for our wine cellars. The service Jake at Vintage Cellars has given us has always been great. He is very responsive and always makes sure our needs are exceeded!
Vintage Cellars is on our short list of go-to vendors for quality wine cellars. They run a tight ship and always deliver a quality product. We look forward to working with the team on many projects to come!
Extremely complex, glass wine cellar demanded a high level of scrutiny when sizing the refrigeration units. Gene Walder gets an A+ for considering all variables and calculating proper refrigeration units for this million dollar wine collection.
Vintage Cellars did an exemplary job of executing my designs. They were able to create a custom stain, add lighting, and create a true showpiece of a wine cellar. I have already contacted them again to work on additional projects. Thank you.
Great job on our cellar. Chris and Dean were great. Built a 1000 bottle cellar. The quality of the build was second to none. 110% recommendation. Thanks
Needed a 750 bottle cellar and this company came through. It’s for our vacation home in La Costa and love the work.
Whenever I bring a client into the cellar, the first thing they say is how beautiful the work is. I can’t agree more… Thank you, Vintage Cellars.
Vintage Cellars did an excellent job… they always communicated with me, and took care of everything throughout the entire project. I give them nothing but high praises, the cellar is wonderful!
It was a great experience from consultation to design, installation and execution. They are professional and fun people to work with…both my client and I will use Vintage Cellars again.
Vintage Cellars was very helpful…courteous, and understanding. They asked me the right questions, and gave me an honest opinion.
I have worked with Vintage Cellars on multiple projects over the past 15 years. This year, I worked with Vintage on the creation of a custom wine room for a luxury high-rise condo downtown. Vintage Cellars is hands down the best custom wine cellar company around! Not only are they old-world craftsman who excel in the art of building high quality wine cellars, they are also experts in the science of refrigeration and cooling. Vintage understands the process of construction and the importance of sticking to a schedule and a budget, which is critical for successful project management If you want the best custom wine cellar for your home, look no further than Vintage Cellars!
I hired Jake Austad and Vintage Cellars to design and install a custom wine room in a former study at my house in Southern California. The room came out beautiful but what impressed me the most was the responsiveness to my needs and the handling of little minor issues that came up during the process. Recently, over two years after the project was completed I had an issue with the cooling unit and called Jake even though it was a manufacturer issue he he responded to my call right away offered to help with the replacement.
In terms of “leanings” from the installation I would recommend the following: buy the more expensive heavy duty cooling unit, do not go with the case storage instead put in more individual bottle bins and finally get as many 2 bottle deep racks as possible.
The experience at Vintage Cellars in total and Jake Austad in particular was excellent. The wine room construction was to exacting specifications and executed in an elegant manner. The attention to detail and customer service was exemplary,
